Easy to use but very inaccurate pH range

I like this product but it's a jack of all trades not a master at anything. but my faucet has the same low ph value of 6.4 although my faucet shows 7.2 ph. I just bought a real water test kit.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

DO NOT BUY! Accuracy and quality are terrible

The price, ease of use and availability are good. Then I used them. The strips have no spacers or are glued to other spacers. The results are extremely inaccurate and inconsistent compared to the replacement I had to purchase. I just can't trust them. Now I can't even get her back. , due to my misguided reliance on this product I kept them for too long.

Fatally inaccurate. in aquarium test kits

Don't rely on this to get definite results. I have used them in my Mystery Snail Tank, Shrimp/Fish Tank and Outdoor Goldfish Pond. Reading was very low. I used the API Master Test Kit for comparison and as I expected the API results were much higher. I rescued 16 mystery snails and they are now in a 10 gallon bottle. I do 2-3 water changes a week to keep her water safe. I skipped one to see if the results are any different. All those life slugs would be dead if I walked past these strips.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Some Difficulties

Very unprecise. Don't buy them.

Yes, I'm almost out of $25 API strips. It was just crazy for me. So I got them and tried them out. The pH was 6.4 when it was actually 7. Everything else seemed weird to me, so I went and got myself a stupid API master test kit. Everything on the strip was about 2 colors different, but the PH was way off. Overall I can't trust them which is why they unfortunately end up in the trash. There were so many 5 star reviews that I didn't think to look at the comments. Just stupid expensive API stuff.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Mostly ok, but...

Generally unreliable

Simultaneous measurements of two strips do not give the same results. Test squares regularly fall off the strip. The color on the squares is rarely uniform. Color flows from one square to another. It all boils down to "what I'm looking at." Not really bad I think. If the colors are acceptable, I've compared KH and GH with the Slurry test kit and they're pretty close. PH, although I'm not sure, shows any changes. I added Alkaline Buffer to increase KH and PH and didn't notice any change in PH…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Updates

nice to go at Aquarium Test Kits

I have several aquariums and you know that water testing is a very important part of everything. I rely on API test suites, but they can take a bit of time. One day I decided to try these test strips when something strange was happening with the pH levels in my 50 gallons. I didn't have much time this week, and I just didn't get the chance to test my API extensively. I waved one of these strips in the water and voila. My exam is complete. Don't get me wrong, I use the API and always will, but…

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Update Available
