Reliable quality is the best among cutters

I use mostly Freud cutters and only 1/2" shanks. Normal usage. While mostly using Freud, I have some Yonico, Rockler and Diablo (also made by Freud) and didn't find much of a difference so I'd say if the price isn't close go to one of the brands listed.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Some shortcomings

Buyers beware Best router parts and accessories

Unfortunately I bought this bit before reading the reviews. Many argue that the bearing is smaller in diameter than the chisel grooves. I thought that was right. When I inspected it I didn't think it was, but when I used it I noticed that the drill bit cut slightly deeper than the surface the bearing was on. I would not recommend this bit for precision cutting.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Hard to say

The one I got was cut 1/16 (not flush)

I have one that is cut 1/16 so not flush but the other one I bought has not cut, so I took care of it myself. I gave 3 stars because it cuts really well. The last Freud piece I bought worked fine and was as described but hey brands change I guess.

  • Great price

Quality bit

Freud makes quality tools and this bit is no exception. This bit cuts very clean and is so sharp it leaves shavings (no dust) when I cut with it. If you look at the picture you can see chips and a very clean and smooth cut from the maple tail. The beat I got is perfectly flat and doesn't have the issues that some other reviewers have reported. Bearings and cutting edges do not match.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Out of fashion

This is another great moment. I make a lot of furniture.

Freud is my choice of cutters. This is another great moment. I make a lot of furniture with complex curves, and finding a pattern and then using it to size the pieces is the best way to achieve consistency in the piece. I use 1/4 inch ply or Luan ply for most of my templates. The bearing of this bit matches my templates well and allows me to get complex work done quickly. Another great product from Freud.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Maybe some of them are good but this one was awful

The blades actually stood out with a larger diameter than the impeller. Therefore do not rinse! I used it and left the strip in the finished work. I bought it thinking it would be better than one of the cheaper brands. Lesson learned: Always test with a pry bar before using anything, even if you don't have to. I would give an extra star or two for really good human support at Freud but their policy is you have to pay them for shipping and they will send the replacement back with shipping costs…

Perfect for making holes in cornholes

I make a lot of cornhole boards for my friends and the part I always hated was cutting holes. I've made a few with a jigsaw but the holes were always a bit jagged. I then bought a 6 inch hole saw which made a nice round hole but the process was like brushing an annoyed mountain lion's teeth. I broke a powerful drill and almost broke my wrists. Bit and 6 inch round template. He works in a metalworking shop and made me a very nice stencil, but a simple one made of wood would have sufficed. At the

Screw problem still unresolved

Freud still hasn't solved the problem that so many people have with this nozzle. After about 15 minutes of using this tool to cut OSB siding around window openings, the stock fell off. The screw was tight when I started using it. I restored the screw and bearing but not the bushing. There is Loctite on the screw. There is no reason to continue this with humans. Also, don't expect to have to check a screw for tightness every five minutes. I will contact Freud and see if they endorse their…
