good piece; just what I needed

I use them to make chopping board handles. does the job; However, as you would expect, when trimming hardwood, these bits are short-lived.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Negative impression

NOT FOR PUT HINGES

As this is a 5/8 diameter router "I assume" they will cut a 5/8 radius for these 5/8 rounded hinges would". NOT THAT! Not even close. Good bit, but not for mortise hinges.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Update available

Check the bearing stopper before use.

Bearing stop came loose on first use. Damaged a $15 piece of maple and damaged my template. My god, a once great company like Freud can't make good cutters anymore. I see in another review that had the same problem with this bit.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Faulty

Use solid template material

I bought this to cut curves in 2x wood and it worked really well. I made my template out of MDF first, but the gap under the bearing allowed the bat to burrow into the MDF. The wider stock may have solved this problem hence only 4 stars but when I switched to a plywood jig the problem was solved and the bit worked very well.

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons
  • Something else

Frued bits are sharp and cut perfectly

Bought Dado's blind cutter bit for a range of European frameless cabinets where the stretcher crosses the cabinets under the drawers, made by Conductor Freud, the bit cut the Russian Birch Excellent No tears. For all other cuts I used the lower cutting attachments but couldn't find a spiral with a bearing guide on top. I was worried about tearing but worked fine for a while and still clear.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • I will write later

cuts beautifully best in cutter

I bought this because I have 3/4 sheet ACX, I wanted to make some cuts with the template. I had cheap beer lying around that I originally tried on a piece of scrap metal. It was like pushing a big rock uphill. He didn't want to cut very well, a lot of pressure had to be applied and the bearing failed, destroying the laser cut wooden template. So I bought this nozzle, made a new template and this thing effortlessly cuts deep in one pass. You get what you pay for.

Pros
  • cutter
Cons
  • only available in white

Halved second use only

Thought I'd get something really good since I spent a little more money on the Freud tip. The reviews were positive so I figured I'd found my piece. I followed the instructions pretty closely, set the router to the correct RPM, and tightened the assembly. I was making shallow cuts in a red oak tree when suddenly I couldn't hear the router cutting. I turn it off and grab my piece of wood and the beat is gone! He broke off the fitter and fell on the router table. If you're looking for a quality…

It's worth spending a few bucks more for quality beats.

When I bought my first Ridgid R2401 laminate cutter, I decided to try the less expensive router bits (ryobi). It almost put me off routing as there were a lot of breaks with these bits etc. What do you expect from a $50 21 bit set? Then I bought a larger router, Hitachi KM12VC 11 amp, 2-1/4 hp and fixed variable speed router kit with 1/4" and 1/2" collets, bought a Freud router with 1/2" " Shank and made one last try. I was just amazed at how much better I got with Freud. So I ordered the rest…
