Excellent quality bits: drill

Excellent Forstener bits made in Austria not China. They are scalloped and cut like butter through hardwoods like red oak. I drilled 25 3/4" holes, 12 1/2" holes and 8 1/4" holes in red oak with a hand drill. Very impressive. I'm glad I paid more for good quality.

Pros
  • High quality forged construction with extended life
Cons
  • unreliable

Sharp and easy to use

These bits are sharp and cut big holes, I can't praise the durability but once I used them they worked great. I've used them to cut a hole in a bird house and stick a small round coin in a tree, as well as various other tasks. Very handy when working with wood and they are of good quality.

Pros
  • Razor-sharp serrated edges ensure a smooth and flat bottom of the hole.
Cons
  • No power

The highest quality available, especially for the money!

These really are precision drills! There are no rough edges, everything is polished almost to a high gloss, the edges are razor sharp (and solid), the dimensions are correct. They make the cut look like butter to the point where you don't even have to press. You simply glide over the tree at full power! The wood chips are very fine and the cut is smooth without burning. After repeated cross cuts, the bits will not heat up. They are also really made in Austria, as it says on my packaging, and…

Pros
  • Super-sharp spur for a precise starting hole
Cons
  • Long delivery time
