Best Drill I've Ever Used

This square edge Freud drill lasts four times longer than Ryobi and ten times longer than anything purchased from Harbor Frieght.

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • Upgrades

Ease of use and great results

Very smooth operation making it easy to use. The results are clean and crisp. I am very happy with this beat. I used it with my Palm router.

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Negative gift

Four blades are worth the extra price

I gave this cutter 5 stars for value for money as it cuts much cleaner than other two blade cutters. Rework (grinding, etc.) is reduced to a minimum, which increases the overall costs.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Quadra Cut makes a difference, great tip

If there were more "Quadra Cut" tips I would buy them. I do a lot of cabinet work and decoration. This bit saves me time due to the smoothness of the resulting finish which means money. Note that the drill diameter is larger than the "normal" round drill due to the extra cutting edges. It's worth the few bucks more for the results, especially when you're working with tougher materials.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I will add later

Does a really good job

I use 1/4 round bits on almost everything I build, mostly western red cedar patio furniture. I always round the grinder, so I don't always pay attention to how well the edge of the router actually does. And it's pretty hard to tell when your router has worn out. Freud's a pretty good name, so I tried out one of her snippets and was amazed at how much it had changed. Regrinding was almost not necessary.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of fashion

A nice clean cut and less sanding is good

My current project is making wooden cabinets with a soft or rounded edge. I have a set of Ryobi bits from HomeDepot, and although I sharpened the cutter, I had significant burnouts and chipping (to be honest, I paid a $70 Ryobi set of 15 bits). This Freud Quadra jet is made in Italy and has a slightly larger diameter than the equivalent Ryobi jet (also note the larger diameter bearing on the Freud jet). Freud's chisel cuts wood surfaces (mahogany and walnut) with minimal burning, but I was able

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Gives excellent results.

I needed a 1/4" shank round bit for my Bosch Colt router so I chose this one because A) Freud makes other great products that I own and B ) they are not made in China. This is the only square drill bit I own and I wasn't sure if it was the 1hp Bosch. will provide sufficient power. No problem. I made some "orange boxes" for my garage shelves and rounded the ends with 3/4" plywood as well as finger holes on each end. The Beat has proven to be a champion, even in the production mode I've been…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
