I needed a 1/4" shank round bit for my Bosch Colt router so I chose this one because A) Freud makes other great products that I own and B ) they are not made in China. This is the only square drill bit I own and I wasn't sure if it was the 1hp Bosch. will provide sufficient power. No problem. I made some "orange boxes" for my garage shelves and rounded the ends with 3/4" plywood as well as finger holes on each end. The Beat has proven to be a champion, even in the production mode I've been working in. Even with the quick releases I used, it took longer to set and secure the wood than it did routing, and the results were smooth considering it was plywood and a few passes of around 150 grit sandpaper over the block pretty much eliminated most of the splinters. use than most other bits, well worth it. i haven't talked about longevity because there isn't a foundation yet. I don't usually build things like boxes but my local LOWES have announced they do some actually didn't have them in stock I saved a few bucks and no doubt got a better product than what I got at $12.50 each would have received if they had been in stock.
