🪚 Freud Single Flute Straight Router Bit 11 176: Precision Cutting for Woodworking Projects Review

This is a good cutter. I had never owned a single flute and found the cut very smooth and easy. There was a slight vibration, probably caused by a cutting edge, but overall I'm very happy with the work. The 1/2" bit was also very reasonably priced. The racquet was made in Italy and sold by the respected Freud company. A good buy.

I have used this part a few times and it seems to work very well. I used it with a 2hp manual router. He had a slight tendency to really attack the tree. I had to be firm with it to make sure it didn't slip away and ruin my project. I assume this is a "feature" of single flute cutters? Overall it performed very well and I think I did very well considering the price.

Although packaged at 24,000 RPM (less than 1" diameter), significant vibration was observed, likely due to the 2" length. (Overflow in router/bit increases with longer bits). Just slow it down, mine ran fine at half speed (12,000rpm), take your time and eat less and you'll be happy with the performance. I would give it 5 stars if they included a suggestion to reduce the RPM to get rid of the vibration.
