Overpriced: Small appliance parts and accessories

Served its purpose. This was necessary to replace one that was obviously "worn out" after 18 months of service. Obviously there are no aftermarket suppliers for this part, so the manufacturer is tricking you into paying an extra high price.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Works perfectly! about microwave oven parts and accessories

Our microwave started to fail and it was only 4 years old. We searched the internet for the problem and found a YouTube video describing the problem. The door match was worn out and shorted out when opened while the microwave was running. This part fixed it! Glad we didn't have to buy a new $600 microwave.

Now we can open the microwave door on the run!

I have replaced the switches and the switch still works when we open the door. I figured it couldn't be the plastic switch holder, it doesn't do anything. Well, apparently it is. I replaced the switch holder and the two year old "won't open door while running" problem was finally gone. Have fun in my house!

Earned my GE Microwave

Like many others, my GE microwave oven blew the fuse every time the door was opened. It's a failsafe microwave that won't be sure if the door is open for a moment and won't want to cook you. Checked 3 switches in the door assembly and checked all ok on the meter. So the last one remains. try to replace the plastic part. Now of course it works perfectly! I think it's quite expensive for what it is. it's literally a piece of plastic. I can't imagine it costing more than a dollar, if that. But the

Original Frigidaire part, weak point in Frigidaire Galley microwave

The main fuse on the Frigidaire Galley microwave bought in 2019 started to blow within two years. It started with a blown fuse when we opened the door while the microwave was on, and eventually the fuse started blowing seemingly randomly. Investigating this common problem with this oven has often led to descriptions of faulty door switches, but the problem lies with this bracket. It wears out quickly and eventually the door latches don't fully engage the door lock switches. The only solution is

Bad ElectroSux design!

First good news: I was able to repair my Frigidaire microwave oven. Now for the bad news. Disappointed that this part wore out in less than 2 years causing the monitor switch to fail. At first I was confused as to how this part could be causing my switch tripping issue. From reading other reviews it appears that the wear and tear on this switch holder is throwing the safety switches out of sync, causing the control switch to close before the closing door switch opens. Creating a short circuit…

Also works in my RV Furrion Convection Microwave

After seeing that another Furrion microwave owner solved their blown fuse problem by replacing the door switch holder with this item I decided Giving me a try as it was similar to what I took out of my Furrion microwave. Of course it works great! I removed three old door switches, installed them in this new switch holder, put everything back together and a month later everything still works great, the fuses no longer blow when the door is closed. The only question I can't definitively answer is

Most important part

In all my research to repair my GE mic the main issue was the switch bracket. It is made of hard plastic, but as it wears, the strength of the assembly weakens. If the door doesn't close tightly or you open the door while the microcontroller is running, the 20A fuse burns out. I kept changing the fuse, after 2 fuses the switch started to work. Then he returned to YouTube. After finding the right video of a retired mechanic. Oh yes, this Frigidaire switch holder works with many other brands too!

Pros
  • Fits me great
Cons
  • No instructions
