This has worked for me: Guttering and Accessories

3 years ago I installed 20 feet of inexpensive gutter leaf guard netting. I waited to test it first. Although it was difficult to get under the shingles, this gutter tape worked. I'm going to finish the back of the house where all the deciduous trees are. Many sell the same product, some are sold with additional clips. I buy a kit with 10 clips and the extra roll you see here and use 5 clips per 20 feet which gives me 40 feet. I'm set for 40 minutes and need to do another 30 minutes to finish…

It's cheap but I think it works

The material really needs to be stiffer so it can be laid over gutters and under shingles. Went through 4 rolls of stuff, took forever to lay flat over the gutters and under the clapboards. When I pull it a certain way to make it lie flat, it stretches somewhere else. Also, the material, being so brittle, never wanted to sit on the edge of the gutter, it just wanted to fall out of that "groove" at the edge of the gutter. The stuff has been installed for about 2 months and is holding up well but

Easy if you know all the tricks

I had trouble installing the net at first because the edges would stick to everything and not slide under the shingles. Then I tried another technique that worked great. I bought some plastic washers to use to install the doors (wooden washers might work too) and slid one every 6-8 inches under the clapboards at first. Mesh up to 5-foot lengths to make it easy to manage. Overlap the ends 1-2 inches and use small zip ties to secure them together. The only downside I see is that in heavy snow or…

After lots of google searches, neighbors etc, it seems there can't be a great/perfect solution to the leaf in gutter problem. At least not insanely expensive. So, many years ago, before my house was walled up and new gutters installed, I used this and it worked fine. It matched my old gutter perfectly, extending from the outside edge of the gutter to the lower roofline. We don't have pines, but we do have oaks and maples with these little spinning seeds. This stuff kept [MOST OF THEM*] off the…

I think this is an economical solution. The time will show.

Yesterday I installed a 40 foot test section of this gutter guard to see how it worked before moving on to the rest of the house. a day or two to smooth it out a bit. Maybe it helped. The hardest part was getting started on the slide - once I got up a few meters everything went well. Maybe that's typical, or maybe I just needed to figure out the best way to do it. I bought a 4 inch trowel to loosen the shingles from the ledge of the drip and slide over the ledge below. That works fine. You can…

  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I will add later

There is no one-size-fits-all gutter shape and size, and no one-size-fits-all method for embedding or installing shingles. However, it was built by your roofing subcontractor. In other words, you have to improvise and forget to buy the perfect gutter protection product. I researched so many products and options before giving up a few months ago. Unless the railing was installed with the gutter by the same tradesman, there will never be a perfect match. I didn't want to spend $60, $80, $100+ on…

There are two very different versions of this product (UPDATED)

Original rating. Summary: - I don't think there is actually a 5" version available on this site - either the material has changed or there are two products supplied from this site (one more rigid, larger bore; the other more flexible, smaller). net). I prefer the harder version. It's really cheap compared to permanent/true chute helmet products so still a lot better than nothing. Details: I ordered a 6" reel last August when they were very cheap ($2) to try this out I gave it a try and was…
