I've been thinking of buying a melon press instead. Personally, after using this fruit core, I think using a knife would be easier and less of a headache.

This is a very handy little tool if you can bottle pears. This makes it very easy to core the pears and wastes fewer pears than using a knife to do the same job. I like the grip on this model a lot more than the old wooden grip machine we used.

A Victorio pear corer should be in every cannery's kitchen! My husband and I have canned over 200 pounds of pears with this tool. This makes pear core fast and efficient. This works on pears of any ripeness from firm to super soft. Even after many uses, it is still sharp and shows no signs of wear. Don't go through another canning season without it!
