Fuel Filter Chevy Duramax Engines Review

The base fuel filter housing sucked in air on my 2007 LBZ making it difficult to start and stop the engine suddenly as if you had run out of fuel. Very uncomfortable. This solution was cheap, simple and used quality materials. A metal breather is required.

Piston seals out of range (too large). After replacing the seals I could not slide the piston over the plastic tube holding the spring on the filter assembly. I tried dipping the seals in Oil and WD-40 no dominance Don't do it.

Everything fitted perfectly and the instructions were very helpful. This, along with the race PSA valve, really woke my truck up and fixed an issue with a fuel system that was losing effectiveness. Pretty easy job to do it yourself!

Excellent set. It came with rebuild instructions and it solved my problem with the engine stalling when cold. If you're going to do this job, you'll need a can of brake or carburetor cleaner. When you take it apart, there is a lot of debris and debris in the fuel head.

Add me to the list of Duramax owners who suddenly have a problem that won't start. My pickup in 2003 surpassed 200,000. A week later, during a severe cold snap, I encountered this problem. I watched some online videos and checked my truck. When I pumped the primer, fuel leaked out of the heater terminal. Removing and reinstalling the filter base took much longer than installing new o-rings. I agree with other reviewers who mentioned two-lipped seals. They fit just like the ones you're replacing

It was a bad buy! I bought it because it had to be a quality set. The piston seals didn't even come close. They were significantly larger in diameter than the seals removed from the piston. The rest of the gaskets in the kit will fit. The parts bag had a sticker that said "Fuel Filter Base Seal Kit for 6.6L Chevy Duramax Engines, NEW". What does "NEW" mean, I don't know?
