Excellent product. I used the tape version of this product and while it kept my cat from scratching my upholstered furniture, after a few months the tape started looking dirty. This nonstick product works well. Very high quality flexible plastic. There's ample padding, screw-in pins to keep it securely in place. It's also not as noticeable as I thought. I ordered a set of these pens last month and they were easy to install. The pins screw easily and fully into the hard and soft parts of the sofa. I just ordered another set and the pins that came with it were different. They don't screw in easily or fully and basically don't work. They have a thinner and longer metal spiral with a different shape than the previous pins. If I had received this on my first order I would rate it as low as possible and return it as defective. They work very well and prevent scratches. They're unsightly, but that doesn't matter because the plastic has to be thick to be durable. I rated them a 3 because the pens suck. They're quite fragile and not well secured, so my cats figured out how to use their mouths to get the ones we put on the underside of our sofa.
