FINALLY a less bulky alternative to POC that WORKS

I've been using POC (Air) knee and elbow pads for years. They only have shin guards in the heavier version. I've tried FOX, TLD as you call it and have never been able to find a pair that stays in place as well as POC. It's perfect. Light weight, less bulky, lots of protection and they stay in place

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • New competitors are here

The firmware started failing only from two runs in

first two stars for two runs in the seam above where the sticky substance does not fall off have already started to wear out, fail and open. I'm a beginner mountain biker and don't litter the trails in any way. I love how they feel uphill and love the protection they offer. I emailed the company and I hope they fix this.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • the packaging is ugly

They look cool, are light but tear easily

Very expensive seals. Already on the first day the fabric started tearing at the seams and edges! They are definitely good in terms of protection but the material will affect your performance, the tightness doesn't let my knees bend enough when skateboarding. They look cool and light, but they're under $140. I'd rather scrape my knees and save so much by not wearing knee pads.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Appearance

Don't order them, get the best ones

If you pedal all the time or sweat then these shields won't work for you. There's a rubber-silicone band on the sleeves that should grip your skin, but WHERE it grips it's mid-thigh, which inevitably ends at the narrowest part of your leg; just above the knee. Since most of the sleeve is above the knee, the pad also moves down and becomes just a shin guard, leaving the knee fully open. I recommend the Leatt 3DF Hybrid EXT knee pads and knee pads that stay in place and are cheaper than these.

Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

UPDATE: 2/9/20 Good guards!

UPDATE: 02/09/20 I really like these guards, they fit well and stay in place. BUT, they started tearing at the top and side edges. They are the right size (not too small) so I'm not sure why they ripped apart. For $130 I expect more from these guards. They are washed frequently, NEVER scolded and have no catastrophic accidents. Materials have no strength. I wear them about 3 times a week and they have lasted 1.5 years. Pretty comfortable, stays in place, great protection! Maybe a little warm…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Minor repairability

Save our meat! best accessories

I bought a set of knee and elbow pads for me and my son when we go mountain biking. I figured that as a coach I would set a good example and wear protective gear and I'm very glad I did. We were cramming into a particularly dense rocky area when we lost speed and traction and two of us fell, or rather fell off our mountain bikes. Not a scratch on me, my G-Forms took the hit and are still going strong! The other coach wasn't so lucky. After removing the pebbles and debris from his leg and knee…

Pros
  • decent performance
Cons
  • miscellaneous other
