Two of my g-drives failed in a year

I've been using g-drives for a few years but not anymore. First one, then the other G-Drive failed. One began to not be mounted. It was within the warranty period so they sent me a new one but it was a hassle to go through the process. The other didn't finish saving and eventually crashed completely. Apple service told me to erase and start over or get another drive. My backups are critical to me, so I couldn't use this drive again. I recently bought two new discs, a different brand. This brand

Cable problem, great drive

This is a wonderful hard drive, perfectly synced and encrypted on my laptop as I need extra storage at school as I use Windows and Linux environments run on a small MacBook. MY ONLY COMPLAINT: I foresee problems with the cable and drive because it's not tight enough to stay connected to USB-C. I stumbled across this once and it ejected incorrectly from my Mac. Users may not be aware of this as the notification quickly disappears. Would really appreciate if I could get a replacement OR they…

As if I know what the hell it is.

So I had a smaller capacity one before. My son (who has been with Apple for 10+ years) suggested a larger capacity because the other one was "full" and clearing the space was beyond my patience. Okay, he suggested "1TB". I asked "1 tablespoon?" He struggled to explain (he's a global trainer now so he explained it too well) but I just went and bought it, plugged it in and it does what it does, without maintenance and feeding. (I have a 27-inch Mac) So here it is, a technical overview to help you

Very easy to use portable drive for Mac

G-Drive literally plugs into your MacBook. Just plug it into a USB-C port and it will appear on your desktop as an external drive. It is very portable and its aluminum body fits the MacBook well, making it very durable.

Great product with added connectivity

I've only had the drive for about a week but it has already paid for itself. I recently had an issue with my MacBook that required not 1 but 2 trips to my local Apple Store where my MacBook was sent in for repair each time. Luckily, I have an Apple plan that qualifies me for a loan in these circumstances, so having a portable and reliable method of restoring from backups has become absolutely essential. While not specific to the seller, the drive also comes with both USB-C and USB-A connectors,

Great companion for your Mac

Honestly, storage space is an issue when it comes to thousands of photos and videos. I recently ran out of storage space on two different Google Drive accounts along with my iCloud. Of course, there's always the option to pay monthly for additional storage, but that price will add up in the long run. Besides, when do I really need access to all these memories? I just want to make sure I can keep them in a safe place. With an external hard drive, you get the security of all those memories for a…

A badly damaged hard drive was a huge expense

I have to say I have ordered G-Drives in the past with no problems. This has always been my choice when ordering for customers because Apple recommended it. But I ordered this at the beginning of August. I had over 90,000 priceless files from a client I was working on. Initially, the transfer speed was slower than normal, but I didn't think it was the hard drive. After 3 weeks the disc was completely broken. Mounting alone would take several hours, and several more hours just to read a file. It

SO GOOD so far in external hard drives

SO THIS IS THE SECOND. The first one didn't stay installed - kept throwing "wrong" so I sent it back for replacement - thinking that one might be bad doesn't mean they will all be bad. It arrived yesterday, and while it's not crystal clear to the uninitiated, it's really plug and play. The included quick start guide just shows you how to connect it. Point. No word on how to use it. BUT there is an 888 number that ended up giving a helpful person to talk to. He told me how to open it and…
