Description of Surecom SR-112 Cross Band Radio Simplex Repeater Controller with K Plug 46-K Cable for Kenwood, PUXING, WOUXUN, QUANSHENG - by Mcbazel

The SR-112 is a multi-function voice recorder device that connects to virtually any handheld, base, or mobile radio. It features exceptional voice recording quality and higher capacity than any other comparable device on the market. The SR-112 s voice mail function operates like a telephone answering machine, allowing users to record messages for later retrieval. Up to 3 incoming messages can be recorded, total recording message up to 180sec. A simplex repeater records incoming transmissions and retransmits them on the same frequency. This has the effect of doubling the time required to transmit a message, while a traditional repeater typically costs thousands of dollars and might be semi-portable at best. A simplex repeater can be set up with a single handheld radio and operated from batteries. This makes it perfect for disaster response, home or campground use, and any place where radio range needs to be extended but the cost and complexity of a traditional repeater can’t be justified.Auto message send system 15/30/45 minutes setting. 3 of message box for record - Auto Message send out at 15/30/45mins -Up to 180 seconds total recording time -DTMF remote control for all functions.

Intermittent performance

Intermittent performance. I could stand in the same spot and the repeater behaved well or didn't play the shows in full. I tended to cut off the end or the beginning of the transfer. It works but not well enough for me to keep.

It works although I don't really know its features yet

The product works right away, it has features I still need to learn but I'm NOT complaining as it worked straight away. The only reason I gave it four stars and not five is because there are holes in the manual to drive my truck through. But the device itself makes a reliable impression so far.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Relax! New toys! Launched fb group surecom sr-112

Radio connector on the back of the receiver. Be sure to take a look to make sure it's fully seated. Now everything works! Automatic messages every 15 minutes. I jumped to the end of the street and heard myself :) I like it! Now I want more features! Fits my 8 watt ripper bow. You may need to make/get more cables to try a mobile setup :)

So far so good, no problems

I had "playing around" with this for a few days. So far it works as described. I haven't had any problems yet. I have a lot more testing to do but for now I'm keeping the SR-112 and enjoying my purchase. I'll try to update more when I have time to try more features. If you have the right cable you shouldn't have any problems. I used this with a GMRS-V1 and a BR-450 UHF antenna. I've left the Surecom on battery power for up to 8 hours with no battery issues.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • No automatic

CHEAP FOR THE PRICE BUT SOME DIFFICULT TO SET UP.

I bought this to install a simplex repeater and so far it has worked great. I had some problems with it in the beginning, but it worked in the end. Make sure you read and understand the instructions before attempting to set it up. I initially had some issues with not repeating or recording messages. If the connected radio volume is found to be too low, it will not record or repeat. It has a great standby battery, but I haven't used it much to see how long the battery lasts during use.

Small but effective for short distances

Works well except for the reset timer. If you press the button too soon after sending the last message, part of your transmission will be lost. You also really have to wait a second before speaking when you press a button. Many online video reviews indicate that DTMF tones are difficult to program. No, that is not so! If you have trouble, turn up the volume on the radio connected to this unit and the receiver will hear the signals and programming becomes a breeze. A rechargeable battery is…

Worked for a short time, then issue after issue.

First I set it up with retevis rt22 and after setting up the radio I did some tests. There's even a video showing how it all works. Everything from my mdc1200 and my voice is received perfectly. A few hours later, after charging the radio and repeater, I turned it back on and immediately noticed problems. mdc1200 was not recorded, and even from time to time he transmitted, marking or just part of what I said. I ordered a replacement and found the same issues right out of the box. Took him to a…
