Excellent product, highly recommended

First I replaced 3 hinges with items from a big store and I need a 4th hinge but I ordered 3 instead. I subsequently ordered 3 more to replace all 6 hinges on #1 double garage door (including 3 new hinges for large boxes). Doesn't matter. Night and day. Highly recommended as a first option. Don't waste your time with big box hinges - they don't get the job done.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Bigger than the old one but works great

My old hinge was about 1/4 inch smaller but all the screws matched and the GDO opens/closes fine. I bought this and did exactly what I needed. I used a percussion gun to remove the old bolts and screw in all the bolts with a new loop. I then hand tightened the last few turns to avoid removal. Run the GDO a few times and double check that all screws are tight. After that, I would suggest checking about once a year.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

Nice replacement, albeit not JGS. Look for # (#1, #2 etc.)

My garage door hardware is over 15 years old and some components are starting to show metal fatigue and cracking (photo). The original equipment is JGS, but this replacement is not. Regardless, the quality of the replacement is as if not better than the original JGS. It's slightly wider than the JGS, which will likely make it stronger. #1 attaches the panels in the middle, and #2 goes along the edges of the doors. Just search for # on the original hardware.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Damaged
