The problem is that plastic sockets are slippery and will slide off alligator clips. I recommend putting insulation over the clips that is molded/"welded" to the clips to keep the lids in place.

Bought some time ago and used regularly. I think they work well but I have an issue with the insulation being too slippery. When I open the clamps, the insulation slides all over the place and tends to slide back, exposing more and more of the clamp itself, defeating the purpose of having any insulation in the first place.
