Best Portable GPS Radio and GPS

I bought the 64SX by accident. I should have left this one instead. I just don't have enough weapons for a gun, a map, a GPS, and a walkie-talkie. Buy either an SOS device or a satellite phone.

Pros
  • GPS Finder and Accessories
Cons
  • Frequency

Unreliable obsolete junk

Just bought 4 of these to enable our group to communicate in the remote wilderness. The map is inaccurate and useless (no topo), if you use the hills the talkback can reach 0.5 miles if you are in the bush. The compass is terrible. They only report the location via a two-way signal. GPS does not exchange data between radios. It's like going back 10 years in technology. Also, I've already passed my return date, so we're staying with you for now. Don't waste your money.

Pros
  • GPS for sports and portable devices
Cons
  • Requires socket

The non-replaceable battery failed after a few months.

I bought a Garmin 700 in February 2020 and was very happy with its performance. Now, 5 months later and after only a few uses, the battery is completely dead. The device only works in normal mode when connected to a power source, but does not charge, which greatly reduces its usefulness. ***Update Garmin support was very helpful and offered to replace the unit (still under warranty). However, I would never buy this product if I knew that the battery is not replaceable.***

Pros
  • Portable GPS units
Cons
  • Very expensive
