Expensive but worth it

This is a very strong mount. This might seem like a simple feat, but I've heard other cyclists talk about various binding issues, such as: B. a loose binding or a poor fit, resulting in so much vibration that it is even difficult to read Garmin readings. This snaps firmly into place, is made from very strong plastic (so it doesn't wobble because it's flimsy) and the Garmin locks/mounts are extra secure. It comes with a tiny hex key for adjusting the clamp, so no additional tool is required. toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Fits

I bought this to use my Garmin Edge 520 on my second bike. I paid extra for what I thought was an original Garmin mount. This is none other than the original exterior mount that came with my 520. This mount is strong and durable. If you press the side buttons (they're all on the side), the device will be ejected to the side. The original stayed in place. Equally annoying is the fact that the computer does not sit properly in the holder. It is slightly curved inwards. That too is disappointingโ€ฆ

Very good quality Garmin Edge 500 mount

I really didn't like the mount that came with the Edge 500. It felt very weak for such an expensive bike computer. I was even less pleased considering the O-ring attached mount, which can erode and crack under UV light. I know a person who lost their Edge 500 because the mounting tab broke and their device crashed into the rocks and disappeared. This mount is the opposite of that. It installs easily with the included 2.5mm allen key. I tightened with the indicated 0.8 N/m. It's made ofโ€ฆ

Definitely better than the old suspension.

My Garmin external bike rack was very easy to install. This was very quick and once I adjusted it to the desired angle it worked much better than when my Garmin 800 was attached to the stem. Now I can focus more on the road because I don't have to look so far down to see bike information. I think the only faults I've been able to find with it so far are 1. When I flipped my bike to fix the flat, the top of my Garmin got completely muddy on the ground (maybe I just need to adjust the angle aโ€ฆ

There is a difference, but a small one.

This mount effectively moves the Edge forward two inches and down slightly, placing it in front of the stem and handlebars. Is it easier to see your Edge's display while driving? Yes, but a little. We're talking about 2 inches. Does the front mount reduce drag? In theory, mounting the Edge to the handlebars creates little drag. But Edge is so small that this resistance is imperceptible. Is the front mount more secure than the included handlebar mount with rubber straps? May be. I read thatโ€ฆ

Garmin is cheaper on a product that is not different from

I just bought a Garmin 920xt and was looking for a secure handlebar mount for my two mountain bikes. The manual says there should be 2 different inserts/spacers to accommodate different size handlebars. Well, there is only 1 bet. There is very little flexibility in choosing the handlebar size for this mount unless you buy grommets yourself. For $40 you don't have to. More importantly, as other reviews have noted, the $40 yoke should have metal screw threads, not plastic. It's just that Garminโ€ฆ
