Type of review

I have this device for four months. Overall I really like it and use it every time I drive. Find the map feature when I decide to deviate from my usual trip and explore other routes. I want to give this device five stars. So why not? 1st Prize. Obviously I thought it was worth the high price, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. But if you can buy a full-featured Nuvi for a few hundred dollars, it's clear that Garmin has priced it that high because it's in a niche market without the same…

Good product but problems

Garmin Edge 810 is good. I'm hesitating between three and four stars. The device itself is very beautiful. Battery life with GPS running is stable. Screen quality is pretty decent, but it's not the crisp, high-resolution screen you're probably used to seeing on your phone or tablet, for example. The first one I got had a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, and it's one of those things that once you notice it, you never _not_ notice it anymore. Good to excellent device for the more serious biker

Somewhat concerned about purchasing this device given some of the moderate reviews that I've read and the price involved. I've driven a few hundred miles and would give it high marks. Is it difficult to read in daylight? May be, but only after I've mounted it on the extension so that it was in front of the steering wheel and thus able to adjust its angle, i had no problems (mounting on the stem was problematic because the angle caused more glare in direct sunlight) - so in this case, the…
