Easy to use, love the touchscreen

Dealer installed. I really like the ease of use. The maps are very helpful as we are on a new lake that we don't know well. I still need to learn more about reading side view. Bought another one for the front of the boat. 9 inches is well suited for our needs.

Pros
  • Solid surface
Cons
  • Repair

Really read the manual to help

I like the fact that once you have your update set up and Captin is active you can easily navigate the screen. I was very impressed with the ability to see your bait drop right onto the target fish. However, I would like to add a crosshair to it for even better action 👍

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Having trouble

Excellent detail, LiveScope compatibility, just a small complaint

Bright screen, intuitive menus and great sonar detail. The included charts are pretty good in most places. For others, such as Whether it's a river with a sandy or muddy bottom where things change from year to year, or a less visited lake without accurate maps, QuickDraw creates your own accurate contour maps on the go. Side view is great for spotting fry, underground vegetation, and large fish or schools of smaller fish. On traditional sonar, a tree trunk or branch may look like a single fish…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Unusable features

Very disappointed in Garmin

I have bought 2 of these monitors in the last 8 months, one last spring and one last fall. I used the first one last summer and loved it. I haven't even used the second one as it was built into my boat by the people who winterized it. I paid $1049 for both monitors and now Scheels is selling them for $599. As a Humminbird user who recently switched to Garmin and has battled others in the monitor market for them, I have a very bad taste in my mouth now! No more Garmin monitors for me.

Pros
  • Display Type: LCD
Cons
  • Discontinued

Garmin has it all

I wanted to replace my 7" Lawrence hook and after much research decided on Garmin. Garmin had fewer service complaints than Lawrence and Hummingbird. It's a beautiful device, and the 9-inch screen is about the same physical size as my old 7-inch Lawrence. Is it a touch screen or can you use buttons. It features sonar, navigation, downscan and sidescan and a crisp image - a new take on sonar accuracy. The transducer is slightly larger, as is the transducer mount, so you may need to change the…

Pros
  • LakeVü G3 pre-installed internal charts with built-in Navionics data covers over 17,000 lakes with contours down to 1ft
Cons

Pros
  • Includes GT54 transducer for SideVü Ultra HD scanning sonar and Garmin CHIRP Traditional ultra high definition sonar
