Mount works great with Karoo

I bought this to mount my Karoo on my road bike and mountain bike. The set came with 2 brackets, which is very convenient. It works great as Karoo uses the same mount as Garmin products. The fit is nice and tight, but not too tight. Karoo snaps securely into place and stays in place. It's slightly heavier than other Garmin devices. So far the rubber bands have lasted all summer. I'm not sure how many seasons to expect in total, but they're still looking good.

These work for several years and then break

I use these mounts to attach my Garmin 310xt to my bike handlebars. These work well until they break. I bought them in 2016. By 2021, both were broken, apparently because the plastic became brittle over time. I think that's why they give you 2. I think 5 years of use is pretty good at this price. The good news is that none of the mounts broke in a way that lost my GPS device. I ordered more of these to replace the broken ones because I don't know of a better solution for mounting my 310xt to…

  • Absolutely amazing!

These are the only mounts available for the Varia and its main unit

Pros: Mount that attaches, rotates and is solid. Cons: Difficult to attach the mount to the bike anywhere/anyhow. The rubber bands did the job, but the rubber rots and gives way. Losing your $300 equipment investment due to a rubber band failure is not good. My job is to attach the strap to the Varia and the head unit. So 2 mounts have to fail before I lose anything. I lost an expensive NiteRider unit due to a bad mount. No loss since I used the straps. I hope Garmin provides a way to use zip…

It works but no better

I love how easy it is to install. However, the mount tends to move and shift slowly on long mountain bike rides. I don't resent not using it anymore, but I have to reset my Garmin 510 at the end of every ride or in the middle of a ride on long rides. This is acceptable considering the price of this device. On my other bikes I have "front" mounts, which I like better, but my current bike has brake lines that get in the way, so I have to use a handlebar mount for my computer. I don't entirely…

Not working properly Garmin Varia rear view

This is a great little Garmin mount, but since it's not tilted, the Varia faces down, putting your rear wheel in the radar's field of view. I could fix it with a gasket but it could fall out and create a dangerous situation. Just in case I don't use it but will buy an angled seatpost mount instead. I think when they say it's Varia compatible they mean the little head unit you use when you don't have a Roam, Bolt or Edge. But that just doesn't fit my Varia rear view. I tore the packaging and…

  • Decent performance

  • The list will be long.

OEM Replacement/Part

What can I say, this is an OEM replacement/part and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I just wish they would make taller versions because I really like mounting it on the diner for a nice clean look. But my mountain bikes have a shorter stem and taller head tube, so there isn't enough room between the tubular head tube and the handlebars for the mount to sit flush with the stem. And the Garmin is pushed out through the chimney when installed, pulling the mount away from the stem. If they…

  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive

Watch out for those o-rings and incorrect mounting of the mount

The mount seems to have the wrong tolerances, so the Garmin is difficult to snap into place initially and requires some force a few times. The rubber pad slips despite being molded to fit the rear mold of the plastic, but that's because it's not able to secure the plastic mount. But the rubber bands are really terrible. Just realized I bought this set of replacement brackets in March and am looking for another replacement 4 months later. The original mount and rubber rings I bought from Garmin…

DO NOT rely on rubber bands! They break easily.

I bought this mount as a cheap and quick mount for my Edge 500. Most of the other mounts that seemed stronger were really expensive so I decided against instinct to try this. The only positive thing I can say about this product is that while it works well with Edge devices and while Garmin includes two mounts and lots of different sized rubber bands for attachment, DO NOT rely on the rubber bands. Since there is already a lot of space on my handlebars, I decided to place the bracket around the…
