I sent mine back after using it for the first time. I used RV Life on a dedicated tablet. I thought the Garmin RV 890 would be more convenient for planning routes and downloading routes from other devices. The RV 890 is just a mid-range Android tablet running Garmin software. I've spent hours on the device trying to load .gpx routes to no avail. Garmin tech help couldn't help and when I searched the web I noticed that this is a problem that others are having as well. I bought this unit to replace a Garmin RV 760 that I've had for five years. The RV 890 is a big step forward. It's not just a big and bright screen. The software has been greatly improved, the user interface is more intuitive, the touchscreen is more responsive, the voice recognition is better and the processor is faster.
