Best Ever on Portable DVD Players

I use every weekend to ride 36 miles. It initially takes about 5 minutes to determine your location, which may annoy you. after that it always knows where you are. It's easy to find useful places like gas stations in hotels and shops. BUGS involves not following you when you are on parallel roads. I also had a weird case where he didn't tell me anything about my speed or the distance to my destination. had to restart the whole thing but that saves my favorites. I wish the favorites were higher…

Small enough to fit in your pocket

It's small enough to fit in your pocket. But it didn't have the Announce Lane Change feature like my Nuvi 750. It also doesn't have the Voice Activation menu that other more expensive Nuvi have. That gave the street in front of me the wrong name. However, it finds my location much faster (in a few seconds) than my Nuvi 750 (which can take up to 3 minutes). The menu on the main page is also better than the 750. No MP3 player like my 750. The free map update became available a few months after I…

good GPS for portable audio and video

I used this GPS for a trip to Albuquerque, NM last week and found it amazing. Not only is it lightweight, but it works great and is accurate for both the car and walking. I was driving Highway 14 from Albuquerque to Santa Fe and he gave me very solid advice including these ghost towns. It's a lot better than the Nuvi 255w I bought for a trip to Orlando last spring. The GPS 255w performed horribly, often giving wrong and incorrect routes, or very long and uncomfortable paths. In my opinion, this

Slow as molasses, low battery, no interface

In many cases I thought of literally throwing it out the window. But every time I stopped and thought that "fucking GPS is better than no GPS". The more I wrestle with this *thing*, the more I realize it's a stupid idea.1. I waited 20 minutes to find a satellite in Long Island, 10 minutes in Brooklyn, 5 minutes in Minneapolis. It's gotten to the point that when I'm in a new place I rush to take it to the nearest window because I know if I need it in the next half hour or so I'm screwed. 2. The…

Terribly slow, poor touchscreen etc.

Cons: I really wanted people to like this device, after all Garmin has a good reputation. And there are many positive reviews. I was very hesitant to buy this unit as there were only bad reviews (on the 1200/1250) for many months. now i know why The 1200 was pretty hard to set up and update, mostly just boring. It would suit me if after all the device was a useful product. It's not like this. My 1200's touchscreen appears to be miscalibrated. For example, if you type "n" you sometimes get "u"…

Very good device: Portable DVD player

I can understand that some people expect a lot from a GPS that costs over a hundred dollars. Okay, but for those who want to open the box, pop the device in their car and go, that's more than fine. My old Garmin was black and white, small and high tech since you had to install software on your computer and then download maps to the device using the USB cable that Garmin back then supplied. If you had or bought this cable, you can use it to register your nüvi 1200 and possibly get new firmware…
