must mount Varia to aero or standard seatpost

Luckily I was able to order this kit, albeit an expensive one, as I switched race frames. I used a bike with an aero seatpost, but when I switched I either threw away or lost the standard adapter. So I had to order this set.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Zero

FINALLY a bracket that fits the D-pillar!

Finally Garmin has a mount that actually fits my D-shaped seatpost on my S-Works Roubaux. Previous versions were tight but didn't fit. So when I hit a bump, my Varia usually had to rotate a bit to get back to its original position. In the years that I've installed some Garmin products with their o-rings, they've never failed, although I wish their system was more secure. I change O-rings every year.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Weight

Great way to not mount the Varia Radar on the seatpost

My Varia Radar has become an important piece of safety gear and with 4 bikes I regularly ride on the road I needed more mounts. I've tried seatpost mounts, but since other things were already installed on the seatpost, I was looking for something that would attach to the seat stays. Getting the right combination of inserts and straps can be a little tricky, but once you find the right combination you'll have a safe place to mount your Varia radar.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Getting in trouble

Works great on aero seatposts.

Ideal for mounting the Varia radar on the aero seat post. I was surprised that the strap stretched enough to fit my Cervelo P3 seatpost. To be on the safe side, I put on two large bands. I've used it on my Cervelo for two years with no problems and needed another for my aero road bike seatpost.

Pros
  • GPS accessory
Cons
  • Only available in black

Why does it cost $ 28

I can't figure out why it's $28. Garmin should price them at $10. I mean, after all, it's a piece of engineering plastic with a rubber liner and tape. It is required when using Varia Radar. I have three bikes that I share a Varia with and I don't want to remove the mount every time I change bikes. It keeps the radar safe and I never have to worry about the radar being thrown away. I use it on my gravel bike so it's pretty durable.

Pros
  • GPS finder and accessories
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

C'mon Garmin

If they actually fit the aero seatposts that would be great. As another reviewer mentioned, you'll need to find much larger straps that fit around the mount or just hope they don't fall off. I constantly adjust mine because my custom aero seatpost has a lot more blade than what this mount was designed for. I use several Garmin devices, but Garmin has a bad habit of beta testing their devices with customers. It works well because I can't find any other aero mount on the market.

Pros
  • Car Mounts
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options
