I have been using these radars for several years now, and I believe they are essential for those riding on public roads. One thing missing, however, is mounting flexibility. Garmin presumes that all riders have 10-12 inches of exposed seat post. Unfortunately, those with classic diamond frames, or a saddle bag, or touring bags, lack this. It needs a seat stay mount. I have tried using the pieces included, but sadly, they do not work well except on the seat post.

I don't usually do reviews, but this product is a god-send for road bikers everywhere. Works well, picking up cars well before you can see or hear them. Does pick up the occasional rider but not very often. Connected without difficulty to my Karoo device. The provided mount is a bit flimsy for an expensive item, order the Garmin post mount as well. The PlayBetter team provided quick service. Will use again.

absolute disappointing - the device stopped working after 6 times. I am able to charge and see green LED or connect to it via USB, but the internal battery is dead. The device did last 4 weeks at all.

Great product that works as advertised. Definitely consider the metal replacement mount (on Walmart) for the included Garmin rubber band mount.

This is a great safety tool for those cyclists who ride alone or in small groups in rural areas. Provides very accurate alerts 150 meters out - way before I can see vehicle on my mirror or hear the vehicle approaching! Great piece of equipment!

Easy to set up and install. Gives you plenty of warning when vehicles come up on you from behind. Automatically goes into flashing mode when vehicles approach to make you more visible.

This item works as advertised very well. Purchased a third-party item to mount it directly under the seat. Thanks for attention.

Linking up up my Garmin 530 was a breeze. The optional mount components will come in handy as I used they on my Mountain Bike so that the radar is now interchangeable with both bikes. I did pick up a saddle mount as I already had a tail light on the seat post of my road bike

First off, the unit works very well and I feel safer when using it. It easily paired with my Garmin 830. I don't care for the "rubber band" mounting system. Furthermore, the mounting options are limited. Not everyone has the seat post height necessary to mount the unit. My wife and I ride a tandem and have a trunk pack. it blocks the light from the unit. I had to devise my own method of mounting the unit to the rack. This is a negative because many bicycle tourists use racks and we all end up…

This is an outstanding addition to on-the-road bicycling safety! Audible alert is especially helpful when there is a headwind or when riding downhill (i.e. when the wind noise precludes one hearing cars approaching from the rear). HIGHLY recommended!

Love, or loved this unit. Pros: very accurate notifying of vehicles approaching with occasional inaccuracy. Cons: screen burn in of 2 vertical white lines permanently damaged phone screen so I won't be using with new phone and need to contact Garmin

Watch out, and don't be mislead. This is only the light and beeper mounted in the back of the bike. You have to buy the display extra.Not as great a Christmas surprise, as I'd hoped.
