Gatco 12001 Easy Grip Clamp Mount Review

I used C clamps to hold it, went through 14 knives in about 5 hours. I think I did a better job than ever with this stand. The knife is easy to flip to make the other side. It is necessary.

Works well and does what it's supposed to. Don't mount it on a workbench to get the full effect, but it does help make things more manageable even when you're holding them. It would be better with a slight redesign of the corner rail slot; A rubber insert or something to hold the rail in the easy grip would be an improvement rather than just letting gravity do its job.

The Gatco 12001 Easy-Grip Clamp is a useful addition to the Gatco sharpening system. It holds the sharpening guide, but there is slight "play" in the mount. I can live with that and love the Gatco system. I'm having major trouble getting the blade firmly into the Gatco jig. I find it difficult to attach the knife blade and tighten the small screw. You may need to replace the screw with a different type.
