Exactly as described Very strong EPDM hose

packaging was excellent, very strong, exactly as described. I only returned it because I decided to spend a little more and replace the 2006 Chevy Silverado heater hose with the exact same OEM part that included a pre-installed connector.

Pros
  • ; knitted synthetic fiber reinforcement resistant to heat, ozone and chemical coolants EPDM coating
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Crying at Y after a few months.

I installed this on my 02 Avalanche circa June 2018. A few months ago I noticed that it has a small leak in the Y-connection. (See photo). Maybe that's why I had to add coolant. It doesn't have many kilometers either. I'm wondering if it's safe to keep working or if I should replace it.

Pros
  • Specially engineered materials resist vacuum degradation
Cons
  • Repair

Hose problem fixed

Good quality, good price, easy to install. I do want to mention that if you can't loosen the clamps holding the hose I placed, you'll need a joint and two clamps. They're hard to get to and I was afraid of breaking the tee so I decided to splice mine. Overall the installation took about fifteen minutes and most of the time was spent looking for two clamps.

Pros
  • Made from OEM precision hose components (quick couplers, tees, sensors, etc.)
Cons
  • Almost never

So far, so good. I had to buy a metal bracket.

So far so good. I had to purchase a metal adjustment bracket to attach to the fitting. No big deal, it cost me $1.80 at my local auto parts store. The Original Equipment heater hose has a plastic adapter that is firmly attached to the hose and then leads to the plastic inlet on the bulkhead. Gates not supplied with these adapters. I just made sure it went tight and secured it with a metal clip. Since then it has held up very well.

Pros
  • Meets SAE 20R3 EC Class D1 for less than 25 mm (1 inch) ID, SAE 20R4 EC Class D1 for 25 mm (1 inch) or larger ID
Cons
  • New Competitors
