Not suitable for replacement parts

Have used Gates hoses for decades and have used this application multiple times with no problems. But this hose was deformed and doesn't fit at all. quality control issue. If they changed the snapshot. or if it is coincidence.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Functionality

Let's go OE.: Hoses

As already mentioned, there is a kink in the bend next to the cooler. I should have read the reviews first but I just clicked on them. I have used GATES products in the past and they are usually of high quality. If I knew, I would either leave the original hose or order a new original hose.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Brief instructions

Good quality tubing, needs cutting.

Nice thick hose, slightly different fit than OEM, I had to cut off about an inch to fit properly. This is on a 2004 WRX with a thicker than stock Mishimoto heatsink. I also used T-bolt terminals and there were no leaks.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

The hose has a slightly different shape than .

The hose is a little different from the OEM shape on my Subaru WRX 04. Rotating the side of the pump can get you to a point where this shouldn't be a problem. One star gone.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Not for 2006 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport.

Bends tight but not quite in the right place. The hose is definitely too long. Even after trimming, I couldn't mount it without kinks. I ended up just using the old hose; Hopefully this lasts until I need the timing belt again.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Matches original equipment for belts, hoses and pulleys

Gates has always built high performance equipment. This is no exception. Very few companies can duplicate the original equipment exactly as if using the same mold as Subaru. I was planning to buy a Mishimoto kit but the cost comparison went to Gates. I saved $45 on U/L wheel hose and coolant.

Pros
  • Decent performance

Non-standard bend; not perfect

Compared to my tired, puffy OEM takeoffs, it's not the stock's sharp cornering profile; The more relaxed curves and slightly different angle will force you to buckle it when installing. One end had a thinner wall than the other end of the tubing; What? I'm already feeling weak. Fur. I had to cut A LOT of both ends to make this as good as possible. If you have this hose and you cut it, which you will probably have to do, do so slowly and gradually, but don't be afraid to cut it off a bit at the…

Pros
  • Consistent in testing
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
