🌡️ Gates 31336 Radiator Cap: Ensuring Efficient Cooling for Your Vehicle Review

My problem. The rubber seal on my old lid was torn in several places. While it was actually holding pressure, it leaked and sucked air back into the radiator as the engine cooled again.

A search on the Gates website will match the original Infiniti QX80 part number for the reservoir cap to this model number. Perfect fit and no coolant leak. Although it is sold and packaged as a Gates product, it is actually made by Motorad.

Description and what I thought to buy was a quality cap, the picture shows a Stan brand cap, what I received is a cheap useless "motorcycle" cap in the collar. Crate. Not worth the packaging it came in, I had a bad experience with the Motorad brand. Will reconfigure this part.

Replaced this cap with a new radiator, T-Stat, hoses etc on a 1997 Explorer 5.0. I was surprised that the new cap caused so many problems. Boiling spill bottle and loss of coolant. The lid could not withstand the pressure (16 pounds) and was defective. I bought the Stant brand and the truck is back to normal. Lesson learned. I received a full refund.

This cover fits my 2003 Impreza Outback Sport perfectly. The old one didn't leak, but as the engine cooled, the upper radiator pipe broke off. It may not be a problem but I didn't like it, this new cover fixed it. Full size top hose stays hot or cold when replaced with this cap. I'm only deducting a star because of the lack of space on the lid, you only find an "S" and Mexico in the name "Gate" and then a warning with a barely legible 16lb pressure indication.

Fits and works just as well as a genuine Hyundai part. Despite being a Gates part, the Stant is stamped with the "S" logo. No big deal, just thought I'd point that out. It is very easy to install. ENSURE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY COOL BEFORE REPLACING! FAILURE TO OBSERVE COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY. Just unscrew the old cap and put on the new one. It was raining when I installed mine and I did it in less than 5 minutes, even taking pictures. Very happy with this purchase.

Fits my 2004 Suzuki XL7 perfectly and looks just like the original. However, I'm not using it at the moment. I already have a breather cap on the radiator which I bought and used before ordering this. I've heard a few horror stories about leaking vent caps so I bought this as a backup in case the vent cap fails. I keep this and my original under the back seat in case I need them.
