Works perfectly! Best Replacement Parts

There was a leak somewhere near the water pump. Not sure if it needed replacing but my Mustang had 145,000 miles on it so I figured it was about time. New pump, no more leaks in the driveway!

Perfect fit for my 2004 Mustang 3.8 V6

Hope it lasts. This was a booger to install (not the pumps fault). Be sure to purchase or rent a power steering pump rated pulley puller/installer. Conventional 3 or 2-arm pullers destroy the PS pulley. Trust me (arg!). I had to tap on the power steering pump shaft to reinstall the pulley. Outside this distraction is not a difficult task. If you don't have a screw-on ball joint cage, use a 7/8" open-end wrench around both sides of the heater tube and (carefully) pry open the heater tube flange, it doesn't matter if you damage the old water pump in the process, you'll easily…

Worked well for spares

Bearings failed within a year. It took me a while to figure out that this was the cause of the intermittent beeping. Replaced idler pulley and pulleys and tried to trace it. The warranty had already expired (was in the car for 15 months). ****UPDATE**** Installed another water pump and immediately the same problem. Removed the serpentine belt and found the problem came from the water pump (an internal engine problem, not the pump). We sincerely apologize to Gates for the initial negative…
