GE 6-Outlet Power Strip with 2 Ft Extension Cord and Heavy Duty Plug: UL Listed, Grounded, Integrated Circuit Breaker, 3-Prong, Wall Mount - White Review

I don't know what happened here, I've only been using it for 3 months. It just accidentally exploded, I wasn't even using anything on the power strip when it happened. I thought it would be good considering it's a well known brand.

1 month usage time. I heard a cracking sound today and after searching my house. found that it sparks and smokes! If I went to work, my house would burn down! So unsure! Tried to email the seller, didn't work. Supposed to have "protective shutdown and lifetime warranty" but it didn't do what it was supposed to! So crazy! I'm just glad I hear the sound before it's too late. Once I connected it and the wires (3) my fire alarm went off.

Nothing to like except the price. The power cords are permanently disconnected from one of the two devices in the package. To be honest I would have preferred to pay more as I had concerns about the quality of the cheaper extension cord. It looks like my fears are justified! I've always associated GE with higher quality products, but this power strip is very poorly constructed and almost unusable. I advise against buying this product.

Received two and they seem to meet my expectations. I use one for low voltage devices, a 5v charger and an echo show. It was difficult to turn on the devices when I received them. I thought maybe I didn't turn the switch all the way. I finally made it, but it took a week. Not sure how good they are. I'm getting an exchange as I think it should be a regular product. I will update my rating when I have a chance to rate the exchanged items.

These upgrades were inexpensive. They are lighter than I expected. Also, there's no light to indicate that the power strip is on, so you have to look very closely to see if anything is on or off. Firstly, I would like to point out that the "GE" marking on this product makes no sense. GE has long since given up this line of business and licensed its brand. In this case, they licensed their brand to a company that put them on a piece of junk. There are two main problems with this extension: 1) The 2 inch cable is almost inflexible.
