Tough, but average.

Let me start that these pliers are sturdy and quite functional. However, to expect something special is not necessarily warranted. The jaw grip surfaces are suited to grip large bolt or nuts, while the soft grip in the handle is far less brutal on surfaces that you don’t want to scratch. The size adjustment is relatively coarse, which may not be a major issue for this type of pliers, but the conventional adjustment of opening the handles to a part where there is no structure is a bit…

Pros
  • Perfect tool to have around the house
Cons
  • Limited range of applications

He's convinced best in my review

Son #1 has used these a number of times, and he really likes them. In comparison to a couple of others that we have, including a pair of higher end pliers, these pull out ahead all the way around. They're well made, and they've proven to be quite durable. He's used these almost daily, even keeping them in his tool bag for work, and they're holding up perfectly. We have a couple of pair of pliers in the tool shed that aren't anywhere near the quality of these, and they cost as much, if not more,

Pros
  • Tongue-and-Groove Pliers
Cons
  • The v-jaw may not grip round objects effectively

Very nice set of slip joint pliers

This is a definite step up from my cheap Chinese set of slip joint pliers. Are these Knipex Cobras? No but they are still pretty nice. Mote about these pliers.* Size. 8 inch pliers are larger then your usual set pliers that come in Home Owners or other beginner sets; much closer to the standard size of Linesman (or trades specific) pliers. While, I do prefer a smaller length for the usual "around the house" use, these are still comfortable to hold.* Construction. Typical Gearwrench, which is…

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • The design may cause hand fatigue during use

Nice slip joint pliers that have a wire cutting function.

I was always intrigued by my dad's slip joint pliers. These are like those, with the ability to be opened larger when needed.I also appreciate that these pliers can also be used as wire cutters. I've got wire cutters down the basement, but that's two floors down, so there pliers will be stored in a little tool box I have in my kitchen for when I need pliers OR a wire cutter.

Pros
  • Spend extra and get quality , these grab stuff and doesn't slip at all.
Cons
  • Made in China, the sneaky description tries to hide the fact by stating Vietnam.

Gearwrench 8” good for me

For the money you can find better quality pliers. Its still a good quality plier from GW. I keep it in my truck tote. Hand Tools.

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • May be too bulky to fit in a tool belt

Best tool purchase in a long while

These lineman’s pliers are extremely well built, feel great in your hand… you know you are holding a quality tool. The cutting edge is sharp and easily cuts 12/2 and 10/3 romex, very tight tolerances. HIGHLY recommend.

Pros
  • The Pitbull K9 branding inspires confidence in the quality of these pliers and the manufacturer's commitment to excellence
Cons
  • Not suitable for use in wet environments

Excellent quality on my review.

This is a great tool and it's very well built. It's heavy and solid feeling. The only downside I can think of is that because of how large it is it might be a bit awkward for some people to use. The long handles give you more leverage though which is a big positive in my opinion. These pliers have very good grip.

Pros
  • Pliers
Cons
  • Not recommended for electrical work

Impulse buy good for me

I am GW tools fan and I buy any and all of them whenever they are on sale. I get this set of pliers for only $7 and the tool looks and works just like I have expected. There is no need for more expensive tools. GW is about the best bang for my bucks. Perhaps yours too.

Pros
  • The tongue and groove function allows for precise adjustment to fit a variety of different objects
Cons
  • The v-jaw may leave marks on some materials

My favorite pliers period.

These are the best pliers I've ever used. Hands down. I'm 57 and I've used alot. I like DIY. These pliers allows for a comfortable stronger grip. It will mar nut with no damage at all to the pliers. The grip on a nut is by far the strongest I've ever seen. No slippage at all. I highly recommend ! Only pliers I will buy again.

Pros
  • The GEARWRENCH name is synonymous with quality, meaning that users can trust these pliers to perform reliably and consistently over time
Cons
  • The dual material handle may become slippery when wet
