Garbage Automotive Tester - Don't waste your money

As a result of using this product, I found that the readings were inconsistent and unreliable. It caused more frustration than helped me diagnose any issues. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it comes with a case for storage. Save your hard-earned money and invest in a more dependable tester.

Pros
  • Comes with a storage case
Cons
  • Inconsistent and unreliable readings

Not suitable for commercial use

I am a professional user and I was very disappointed with this tester. I've owned one for several years. The hose-to-thread connection loosened and started to twist so I couldn't screw it in tight. There is no sealing ring above the thread, it does not seal well. The tubing is too soft and flexible, resulting in inaccurate readings. I just bought a Lisle 20250 tester and am very happy with it. It was a great day when I threw this KD tester in the trash.

Pros
  • Tools and equipment
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Compression Tester on Diagnostic, Testing and Gauging Equipment

This product works as advertised. Note that this type of compression tester is a bit more difficult to use than the "press to snug" type, which requires one person to press firmly against the spark plug hole while someone else cranks the engine. This tester is the screw type I specifically wanted. Obviously reading each individual spark plug takes longer but has the benefit of being a one man operation and I think you get more accurate readings. This worked fine for me.

Pros
  • Pressure and Vacuum Tester
