I was able to program

without much trouble. I was able to program this using a windows python IDE which could set up Pico using a shell and also type and write programs in Pico. This will be a useful microcontroller as I learn more about its capabilities.

Pros
  • Computers and Accessories
Cons
  • Damaged

New from Raspberry Pi

Bridges into the world of Arduino. Well, when the Pi is redundant, it's a simple microcontroller suited to specialized tasks. I'm looking forward to a good app for this.

Pros
  • Computer Components
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Great board but cheap price in this kit (see details)

To be honest, when the Raspberry Pi range expanded from full featured SoCs to microcontrollers I wasn't really interested. I mean, for budget projects I've used Arduino, Beagle Bones and ESP32 before. Why use Pico? Well, Picos is FASTER (compared to Arduino). The Python implementation is pretty slick too. The PIO pins are really powerful. After all, if you buy picos elsewhere, you can get them for $4! Wow. I'll probably continue to use the ESP32, but my experience with the Pico was enough to…

Pros
  • Single board computer
Cons
  • Slightly dented
