Overall a very good product but some supplements to the product have ambiguous descriptions and it took me a few times to get everything I was looking for. All the hardware works as advertised, but the application I need turns out to be a problem - because SMB Ver. 1 is removed, my NAS fades. SMB ver. 2 is the closest thing to running on this hardware…. As a result, at the moment I have "nuts and bolts" and no wrenches to put everything together. Work in progress only.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Works great as expected

Arrived a few weeks early for a nice surprise. Easy installation (instructions online but not really necessary - just remember to remove the plastic caps from the standoffs before connecting the drive) and everything worked as expected.

Shield Expansion Board Kit

A very good way to increase the performance of the Pi 3b+. Works more like a real desktop computer. Let the second one do the work too. However, the second order has a power button that doesn't turn the system on like the first. If this happens to you, send it back before time runs out. I'm looking forward to a new version for Pi 4. I'm looking forward to using these boards on Pi 4.

while it works fine.

I bought this to connect a 5TB 3.5 HDD to my Pi so I can watch my videos independently from LAN and NAS. It works well with Windows and Raspian. Plugged directly into the USB port of the OMV NAS and I was able to easily sync any NAS data I wanted to the 5TB drive without the included power adapter. It was also instantly recognized by Windows when connected to a laptop, and again, no external power was required. I formatted the drive to NTFS just for compatibility and it worked great with…

Cons
  • Ugly Packaging
