amplifier speaker is the best I have found. There is an amp power button on the top right, it's like a turbo button. Then there's a volume and tone slider at the top of the phone that you can use to adjust the sound. The phone flashes and rings very loudly.

I ordered this phone for my elderly mother. She is deaf in one ear and very hard of hearing in the other. That's exactly what she needed. Not too hard and the flashing bell is great. The flash helps when the TV volume is too high to hear the ringing. She can easily turn up the volume and use the speakerphone. Works well for our needs.

The telephone has a lot of amplification; however, the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired at higher volumes. I found the controls a bit confusing and should have been more obvious. For example, the speakerphone volume control is on the left side of the device, not next to the speakerphone button. I do not recommend this phone and will not buy this brand again.
