Good replacement: Emblems

This emblem looked like new on my 2006 Chevy Uplander. Hope it lasts as long as the original. I used a heat gun to loosen the glue on the original emblem and then removed it with a spatula. Make sure to remove the old glue with a good solvent so that the new glue sticks well. I used brake cleaner and some WD40 to remove the old glue. Have been using it for a few months now and still looks brand new.

Super easy, installs in 2 minutes

Removing old adhesive is a little more labor intensive. I used a sharp but thick blade/knife to cut a little on the old emblem. After tearing it off, I just used my fingers to rip and tear off the old tape, after which part of the slime disappeared. Maybe a little too much for a perfectionist, but after completely removing the remaining tape I just slowly put it back in place and applied constant pressure for about 5 seconds. Finished.

Perfect replacement for the 2009 HHR rear emblem.

Easy to install. Just grab the monofilament with both hands and work back and forth between the old emblem glue and the car. It comes off a few minutes after sawing. Wipe off the remaining foam adhesive with your thumb, use some rubbing alcohol to remove the old residue, let it dry, remove the backing of the new emblem, then line up the 2 pins with the 2 holes in the case. Press firmly on your body for a few minutes and you're done!

Pros
  • Chevrolet Uplander (2WD) 2005-2009
Cons
  • Good but not great

I spent ages installing this. It looks great and is holding up well. But the water is running around the edge and now it looks like it's going to melt inside and I'll have to replace it eventually. I've only had him for a few months. Aggravating. The original was junk and I was hoping it would work. A car emblem isn't something I want to worry about, let alone spend money twice to keep my old car from looking like a junkie's phone. Some things should just work without the bullshit factor…

Pros
  • 2006-2011 Chevrolet HHR
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
