Great tool if you know what you're doing

While easy to use, be aware that finding a cliff can be difficult and frustrating. This article worked great for me and made tracing the short quick and easy.

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Looking Good For Tester

I never know how to rate a product I haven't used. The unit itself looks very nice - solid - well assembled. The body can still be 1/4 inch or so longer because of the cords flexing - the radius is too tight I think. I'm sorry, I don't have any further information.

Very good and useful product

Only used once so far to check if it works and to get used to how it works a bit. Looks very well made. However, the instructions aren't very clear and I had to call customer service to clarify a few things. CS was very polite and happy to help.

Pros
  • Great design

Easy to use in a circuit tester

I have a dump truck and it always has short cables. I've paid an auto electrician over $400 this year alone. I carefully did the step myself, with the GTC FF310 I was able to find the short in 5 minutes. I cut and replaced the bad wire and saved $100. For DIYers like me, this is definitely a money saver.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Easy to teach. good for electricians

I like it Easy to learn. does his job. Chased a household circuit by pulling the circuit breaker that connects its outgoing cord to the transmitter, then following the circuit through the walls. The house was 2x4 studs with drywall interior trim. The receiver squeaked very well along the way. The tracking occurred about 40 feet from the connection to the circuit breaker.

Pros
  • Makes me happy
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Professional mechanic first time very much

Bought because he had problems with the headlights on a 1997 Cavalier, broken insulation in the ground wire from the hi-lo switch, hooked up this pup and noticed after a few minutes that my ground wire going to my high beam was snapped in two but was still attached to the outer harness connector. In a nutshell. After 2 hours I try to recognize in a normal way. Only 3 minutes with this device.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far

Not impressed! Worth the money TBD

I needed to find a short in my Ford F350. Someone on the Ford forums mentioned this tool. After checking it out, I found a similar tool at Harbor Freight. Which was less than $30. But I wanted to do the job right, and only once! That's why I chose the "Pro" version. I am very disappointed with the low sensitivity. Yes, even at the maximum setting (3x flashing). Hardly works through kick panels or canopy tracking through the scalp. If you are more than a meter away from the transmitter and…
