The circuit breaker label inside the panel was not suitable for 50 amp circuit breakers.

Kit does the job. My electrician had no problem installing the critical part to prevent mains backfeed, but the part that goes over the switch to alert someone when the panel is off didn't match the dual 50-amp -switches. I think my substitute would be to write on the switch itself to make sure it's pretty obvious.

Great Safety Device

Like many other Texans, after our RARE freezing temperatures in February, I bought a portable generator to plug into our electrical panel. This device is required for security reasons if you do not install a transmission device. The only difficulty with the installation was that our Square D panel was upside down. I just had to remember to do everything in reverse order. The device worked great!

Excellent Quality Generator Safety Interlock

After researching the cost and limitations of manual switches for portable generators I decided to install this interlock kit on my 10,000w portable generator. The switch I first considered cost over $300 and would have limited me to just using 6 circuits of my 200 amp panel. Instead I chose to fit this interlock kit into a Homeline Square D 200 amplifier panel. The generator is connected to a junction box installed outside my garage which runs to the generator circuit breaker in my junction…
