🚗 Genuine GM 15016010 Parking Brake Lever: Premium Quality and Authenticity Review

This review is very late, sorry. Haven't been to Cyberworld for a while. This went pretty easily into my 2001 GMC Sonoma and certainly fixed the problem. As far as I remember, the delivery was quite fast. Thanks very much!

Worked great on a 2002 S10 and a few hundred less than the dealer. It's a bit of a hassle to install, but not that bad. The hardest part is getting the brake cable out of the old assembly. 2 people would make this part easier.

This is the third parking brake to fail. The factory originally installed could not remain closed after many years after the depression. I replaced a part I bought from a dealer that failed after a little over a year due to locking and not unlocking. This replacement part purchased here broke down 2 months after the 1 year warranty expired the same as the first one (locking failure). Very terrible design by GM.

A warning. Install the brake light connector before attaching it. There is a large bundle of wires making it difficult to attach and it is VERY difficult to properly clamp the lighting connector AFTER you have installed the pedal. Instead of taking it out again, I actually used my phone's borescope camera to see where to insert the wire and which way to push to tighten it. Not part of the blame. Just a Chevy evolution.

Maybe easier to install? Not with this version, but a tip: you can compress the parking brake cable with a small hose clamp to get the cable out of the knot. After installing it, I found that I had to pull the pedal with my foot to apply the brake to turn off the light. Yes it works, but having to install a build only to find a lack of quality control is annoying. Every time I use the parking brake I am reminded of the practice of installing it and the poor quality of the product.
