This is a quality tool. I work as an HVAC professional and use it in my daily work. This is a quality tool that will last a long time. You let your student use it and he loses it. It's made of a semi-hard, semi-soft plastic that won't break if it breaks, allowing it to connect to a hose that's pretty much the right size.

Not only does it fit my Avalir, it stretches just enough to fit my Shark Rocket. It takes a bit of wiggling to get it tight enough for the shark, but it hasn't come loose yet. I've ordered several of these so I can always use a different one depending on what I'm packing away. This makes dusting a lot easier if I don't want to lug around a heavy Kirby. I am very happy that I have a dust attachment that works on both vacuums.

I was delighted to learn that I can order Kirby parts and accessories through Revain! Our dealership has closed (he and his wife have retired) and the closest I could find was 80 miles away! I can't say enough good things about my Kirby! I've had it for over thirty years and all I have to do is replace the straps, pulleys and of course bags! I was happy to find genuine parts for my 27 year old Kirby vacuum. I would give this item 5 stars if it was exactly the same as the one that came with my vacuum years ago. The hair is not that long and it has lengthened the plastic part in the middle of the hair which makes it a bit difficult to suck delicate items without scratching them which can cause scratches etc. Everything will be fine as long as I'm careful. This is a real horsehair feather duster. In my house they are used a lot; our original brush that came with our 25-year-old Kirby has finally turned to dust (ugh, bad pun, couldn't help it). I wanted original quality Kirby and got it with this brush. Yes, you pay more for it because it's made from horsehair and works well *for a long time*.
