This hose was a replacement for the one that fell apart on our Shark. It lasted every 6-7 uses when we were using the hose to vacuum the steps and part of the hose fell out of the insert. This hose is of lower quality. First, it's about 3 inches shorter than my original hose that came with the vacuum. That means when you put it in the vacuum cleaner, it expands so much that it looks like it's about to rip.
