This is an OEM replacement air filter for 2019 Subaru Ascent. It's easy to change. It costs half the retailer's markup. If you have the mechanical skills of a wall nut, take your car to the dealer. Otherwise, this purchase is the best bang for your buck.

The white that came with the car was made in Japan, this yellow is made in the USA. They are very similar and I expect them to work the same way. I ordered 6 and they were well packed in the box, undamaged. The maintenance schedule is to change them every 30 months or 30,000 miles under normal conditions, which is nice.

I just installed a cheaper secondary filter. Now I understand why it's worth spending a few extra bucks for an official Subaru filter. The cheaper filter has serrated rubber edges that prevent the case from closing. I had to trim the edges of the budget filter to fit. And even then, budget tires are stiffer and denser, so the engine filter housing was very difficult to close and snap into place.
