Works great: Internals

Installed it on my computer and ran some quick iperf3 tests and performance looks fine. The kit also included a cooler which is not in the photo. I actually bought a heatsink separately as these cards tend to get pretty hot, but I don't need one. I will update the review if anything goes wrong. PS I didn't use the low profile mount so I can't comment on that.

Pros
  • High quality PCIe 2.5 Gigabit network card with 12cm profile bracket and optional 8cm profile bracket for easy installation in small form factor/low profile computer cases/servers.
Cons
  • old

Will buy more when supplies last!

I was skeptical as this is the cheapest multi gig card I could find but I had no problems at all. It's very easy to set up - just plug it in, install drivers and you're done. This is ideal if you have a multi-gigabyte setup but are bottlenecked by hard drives or only PCI Express x1 slots are available - I have no problem scaling up/down 2.5 gigabytes between my PC and NAS. below, with a 10GB QNAP switch in between. I would love to get another one for my HTPC but I may have to shell out a few…

Pros
  • Gigabit network card compatible with a wide range of operating systems, including Windows 10, 8/8.1, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, xp-64bit, Vista, Vista-64bit, 7, 7-64bit, Linux, Mac OS 10.7
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Low profile bracket broken, returned

You'd think it would take the manufacturer about a minute to verify that the included low-profile bracket actually fits the included card, but unfortunately the state of quality control currently does this crap. As you can see from the picture, the low-profile bracket doesn't match the ethernet connector or the screw slots on the card itself, making it all the more noticeable when you see a regular bracket next to it. me as I can't install it on my HTPC.

Pros
  • This PCIe card allows you to add a 10/100/1000/25000Mbps Ethernet port to any PC through a PCIe slot. Fits any PCI Express x1, x2, x4, x8, or x16 slot; An optional 8 cm low-profile bracket allows installation in a small HTPC case.
Cons
  • New Competitors Have Arrived
