Best Z490 motherboard for the money

This is the 3rd Z490 motherboard I've used (I build custom gaming PCs from the side) and is now my choice for the chipset. On my first build, my client wanted all components to be white, so I went with an ASUS Z490-A Strix motherboard and had no issues with it, but found it too expensive. I decided to put together a new game for myself and this time I wanted to try the Aorus board. Right off the bat I felt the board was much higher quality than ASUS and I appreciate the fact that it has 3x M.2,

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models

Should have tried Aorus sooner. Recommended !

The bad hype over the years put me off Gigabyte, but it was always the same 2 lame reasons, complicated bios and buggy software. Neither is true and in any case ineffective. Good quality, extra powerful VRMs make this the best board I've ever used. First, the bios is a bit more difficult to navigate than others, but unless you're a hardcore overclocker you won't need any of this, and if you are you probably won't notice. My DRGB looks great, but there's no reason to settle on a specific board…

The board is nice but the service from Gigabyte is terrible

The board itself is very nice. Looks fantastic in my case but I think it has a defect. My system strangely freezes every few days. I replaced pretty much everything to prove it was the board. The only thing I can't change is the processor and I've tested it extensively. I contacted gigabyte support. I listed everything I did. They didn't write me back until 2 or more weeks later. They told me to do everything I told them, which I already did, which tells me they didn't read my previous comments

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Upgradable

This motherboard is not very good. At the basic settings, it will automatically overclock your processor by feeding it too much power, leading to overheating and potential crashes. I'm not new to building computers and it took me a very long time to get my processor running smoothly. The average user will not like this product. Also, the last 2 BIOS updates for this model were beta versions and will NOT work with 11th Gen processors. Their support is silent, although I've emailed them…

From Asus to Gigabyte - No Regrets

After years of using Asus boards I was hesitant to buy the Gigabyte MB but so far I couldn't be happier. The build process was easy, but on first boot I was concerned that mb would find the correct SSD with Windows boot information. MB booted and restarted on its own a few times, but eventually set up the correct boot sequence and didn't crash after a few reboots. I also love Gigabyte's apps including the BIOS app which makes updating the BIOS firmware incredibly easy. Barring unforeseen…

Overall a great board!

I bought this board to use with my new I7-10700k. I was a bit skeptical about Gigabyte at first, simply because I've always supported ASRock for good mid-range boards. This board looks great and has all the features I was looking for and what you would expect from a Z490 board. I'm not a super duper tech when it comes to ALL the board's features, so I'll stick with what I know. Pros: Good lighting on board and overall nice looking board All Sata ports (6) and M.2 ports I need (3 considering…

Whining like a B on Internals

Overwall Motherboard is pretty good. The workmanship and attention to detail is very pleasing. The BIOS also has MANY features, HOWEVER, this and other high-end Gigabyte motherboards have a serious coil whistling issue due to the VRMs used. You get a high pitched screeching noise no matter what you do on the system. I originally had an Aorus Master that had the same problem, I got it as a replacement and the problem was WORSE. It got to the point where sitting at the table was really…
