Very happy! best water heaters

It was surprisingly easy to install, although I had to re-route the PEX plumbing to the unit because the hoses were misaligned. It fit perfectly in the hole that was there from my old 6 gallon suburban water heater and plugged in very easily. I tested it and it works great and is very, very quiet. If anything goes wrong I will update my review.

Do not buy this product, it does not work

Does not work. I had 2 units and a new circuit board and they all had the same problem. Everyone said the same error and the service people didn't know what it was and this error wasn't in the manuals. So, I've been stuck without hot water for over 4 weeks and am working full time. An idea and if it worked it would be a great product. You have to make it work.

RUN FROM THIS DEVICE!

The first one I bought didn't work at all and broke straight out of the box. I liked the 2nd in the short time it actually worked. It's great in concept but terrible in application. I'm in Block 5 right now. These things are NOTHING but problems and I've had problems all the time. Everything from error codes to user system crashes. A BASIC issue is that you can't buy UCP separately! If, like me, you are constantly on the move, PLEASE do not try to save money by buying this device! Choose…

The worst thing about living in an RV is the 3 minute shower.

I live in an RV about 300 days a year. The worst thing about living in an RV is a 3 minute shower plugged into a 2.5 GPM water heater. This item is a real life saver! It produces hot water in about 5 seconds and runs indefinitely. Well at least I personally used mine for about 35-40 minutes and it continuously dispensed water at the correct set temperature. The instructions specifically state "Professional Installation Only". However, if you have a basic knowledge of plumbing and 12vdc systems…

city water YES! RV pump NO!

Ok I have a Keystone Laredo MK335 and it fits perfectly. Hooking up the old fittings to the new ones was a bit of a chore (I hate PLEX), but I still made it by noon. In truth, a water heater works great with city water. Unfortunately, when disconnecting from the city water and using the RV pump, there is not enough pressure. I'll put a battery in right after the pump and see if it works (batteries are only about $40 which eliminates the hammer effect). If not, I'll have to upgrade the pump…

We will use our RV more now.

we like to use our camper van but our problem has always been that we didn't just go to the lake but used it in places where my wife likes to get dressed and shave her legs etc. A quick shower from a 6 gallon hot water tank really upset her. Well problem solved. The shower now lasts as long as it needs. However, take note! The on-demand water heater has a few things a person needs to know. You must feed him good, clean water. Put a water filter in front of it. Also understand that it needs the…

Poor maintenance and unreliable performance

I bought this heater after reading all the bad reviews and thinking (wrongly) they couldn't be mechanically tilted or something. There was an error. This heater was installed on a 2017 Forest River Wildwood 30ft exactly according to the instructions. Heating requires a VERY specific flow of water, gas, and in some cases natural disaster. It worked fine for about a month; Very reliable hot water. Then, after that month, the temperature started to fluctuate (from hot to cold and then back to…

update year. The device still performs like a champ! I get a 73F rise over the block in a 40 water temp in the winter with something in it. I can't find any flaws in this device. Three month update. Still runs strong AND uses less propane than it would otherwise on a 12 gallon commuter. As we all know, running DSI heaters on both propane and AC provides faster recovery. No problem with the Girard device. I see a 65°F rise throughout the unit, but I still have it up to 115°F. Still by far the…

Slightly better than the tank and cheaper

The monitor allows you to easily adjust the water temperature. This is a great feature. The monitor also has a red LED and a green LED. Nowhere in the manual is the meaning of the LEDs explained. Apparently the red LED means the device is armed. I still don't know what the green LED means, but I can turn it on and off. It doesn't seem to matter. I bought this to replace a 6 gallon tank block that had frozen and burst. When I opened the white cover of the Girard control box to inspect the…
