Giro Scamp Youth Bike Helmet for Recreational Cycling Review

This helmet has survived three little boys and is expecting a fourth; now about 5 years old. Robust and good helmet. The shell is molded from MPS foam so it won't crack or come loose. It survived several "drops" from our group of four concrete steps with only minor dents in the shell and a few scratches. a slight tilt of the head forward because although the straps are fully adjustable, they will loosen over time. Overall a pretty good helmet.

This helmet is the best bike helmet we have found so far. It's so easy to adapt to my 4 year old and he doesn't complain about it at all. In fact, it's so comfortable that he often forgets he's wearing it and goes in without taking it off. I found it indoors after riding my bike and watching TV without realizing it was on. It also appears to be excellent quality. The other helmets we had were ripped to pieces. The insides are peeling off the outer case, but this is still in excellent condition.

I bought this helmet for my young son to carry in his bike trailer. It can be pulled down to a fairly small size that seems to fit him (he's had it since he was about 6 months old, head circumference 17 inches). The chin strap is harder to get small enough in my opinion, but I think we managed to make it small enough that I don't have to worry about the fit. My husband and I bought this for our 4 year old for Christmas - I love how easy it is to blend in and the color is so bright it's easy to see if he's on the street or in the park cycles. Great lightweight helmet for my 11 month old son! I originally bought a Bell bike helmet that was too big and didn't fit, so I read about a few adjustable bike helmets and finally settled on this one. So far I am very happy with the helmet.
