Didn't think I'd need them: glad I had them when I was making

. Bought for my Subaru Forester (along with tensioners). Subaru actually says they shouldn't put chains on their cars, but in some places they have to be in the car independent of your transmission. Basically, I made them not break the rules. Turns out I really needed her! (Crossing the Cascades in winter can be rough, y'all) They were very unremarkable (which you should have if you have a Subaru: thick chains = big problems) and the ride was actually very smooth, barring blizzard conditionsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • cemented steel coils on cable cross members
Cons
  • . I could have opted for a newer model

Good quality! Price and ease of use when needed.

I have occasionally used snow chains on my cars for the past 40 years. It is very nice! They're not super bulky or virtually indestructible like they were in the good old days. BUT for the few occasions when they are needed, they are more than functional! They are compact and very easy to store; even with a practical bag. They are very easy to install; most likely these are not the best conditions outside when needed! I like cable over heavy chain for light to medium loads. I suspect they won't

Pros
  • Suitable for both front and rear wheel drive vehicles
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Good traction but rust. Please read/pay attention!

Very, very effective. I was able to get my 4WD truck where some 4WDs with bare all-season tires couldn't. The wheels were undamaged but rusted after three days of use. It looks like it's just surface rust, but it's unknown how many more seasons they will last. Please read below if you have no experience with chain or cable hoists. This can save you a lot of trouble. The Glacier/Pewag website has a very helpful size chart for passenger items. Be sure to check all applicable laws regarding whenโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Product installation details can be checked for application compatibility at View all details. Regulator recommended, sold separately
Cons
  • I will add later

Work the way you want - Tires and Wheels

Easy to install. About 5 minutes per hoop if you know what you're doing. Perfect fit for 225 75 15 tires on Ford Ranger. Be sure to use the separately available rubber tensioners. That's what the new instructions say. Ignore the reviewer who showed a photo of directions with instructions not to use them. These cables are just what you need in an emergency when you're at work and it's snowed all day and they've stood up to the plowing of the streets. I have a 35 mile commute with hills and theyโ€ฆ
