Medium whetstone (Grit 1000) hones dull knife edges. Made of hardened ceramic powder for quick, easy work. Can be used immediately after wetting--no need for lengthy submersion. Rubber-like base prevents slipping; porcelain slab adds rigidity. 8-1/4 inches long, 2-3/4 inches wide, 7/8 inch thick.

Global Medium grit sharpening stone

Quality stone, consistent results. I use toothpaste (not gel but pumice) with some water. If the grain is clogged with metal shavings, simply dampen it a little and scrub with a stiff brush. This operation restores the "cut".

Pros
  • Medium grit sharpening stone (1000 grit) sharpens dull knife edges
Cons
  • Fine

Works well - sharpening stones

I would have just wished it was a little longer. The ceramic material is harder than traditional stones, giving it a different feel but just as effective, and won't deform like sharpening stones after repeated use. Great tool for keeping knives sharp.

Pros
  • Made from hardened ceramic powder for quick and easy work
Cons
  • Damaged
